Issue Position

I wholeheartedly support any legislation that will repair our our coast and/or alleviate the effects of climate change in our state.
For example, the oil and gas industry has left countless unfilled canals through our coastal wetlands. They have not been held accountable for repairing the damage they have caused to our already fragile ecosystem in South Louisiana. I believe we could dredge the Red River, which desperately needs to be dredged to prevent future flooding, and transport the resulting river sand and silt to our coast to fill in these areas of mass erosion.
I also support a full review of the industrial pollution in our coastal area, the installation of air monitors at industrial sites throughout the state, and increasing the fines and penalties for corporations that violate EPA/DEQ regulations.
